The newly-elected five-member Student Government Association (SGA) team is gearing up for a successful year at Upper Iowa University.

Representing the student body in 2014-15 will be president Cody Booker, a sophomore majoring in biology and minoring in business from LaSalle, Ill.; vice president Sydney Cyzon, a sophomore double-majoring in biology and chemistry from DePere, Wis.; secretary Gabe Summerhays, a sophomore double-majoring in communications and marketing from Ogden, Iowa; treasurer Taylor Williams, a sophomore double-majoring in mathematics and business from New London, Wis.; and Academic Extension officer Tim Rueb, a junior double-majoring in management and marketing from Sillwater, Minn.

The UIU SGA plays an important role in student services. It serves as the liaison group among students, faculty and administration; keeping each informed of the other’s interests. The SGA president also represents the student body on the UIU Board of Trustees.
